Upstate Donut Guide- Our List of Must Try Donut Shops!

Donuts. A childhood favorite. An adult favorite too! Who doesn’t love donuts?! There are SO many places to stop for donuts across the upstate. We talked with several folks around Greenville and have compiled this Upstate Donut Guide as a list of their most favorite “dozen” donut shops! National Donut Day is always the first Friday in June but feel free to share and use this list anytime!

Big Apple Donut and Cafe 

Big Apple Donut and Cafe has been highly recommended by locals across the upstate! They have a fantastic menu, donuts and pastries too! Be sure to get there early if you don’t want to miss out.

Mama’s Sweet Shoppe

Mama’s Sweet Shoppe located in Due West has some of the best donuts outside of Greenville. You’ll want to get there early so you won’t miss out! They have several creative flavors, pastries and so much more on the menu! 

Lickin Good Donuts

Lickin Good Donuts in Simpsonville is a local favorite! They offer a variety of donuts and breakfast sandwiches. They haven’t been open as long as some of our other listed shops, but you should give them a try when you’re nearby! 

Downtown Deli and Donuts 

Downtown Deli and Donuts  in Spartanburg has everything! Stop by for their amazing cinnamon rolls, their deli items and last, but not least, their donuts! They have vegan donuts as well! 

Bruno’s Donut Cafe 

Bruno’s Donuts, located in Central offers daily donut flavors that are made fresh to order. The cafe is open Wednesday through Sunday. Each day, Bruno’s shares their daily flavors, so keep an eye on their social media! They have recently added outdoor seating with a side yard with Jenga and corn hole- perfect for a day out with the kids or a nice place outdoors to study if you’re coming from nearby Clemson!

Sunny’s Donuts 

Sunny’s Donuts in Gaffney has been providing the upstate with delicious donuts for 20 + years. They offer a wide variety of cake donuts, yeast donuts, donut holes, and wonderful pastries! They’re definitely worth the drive from anywhere in the upstate!

Duck Donuts

Duck Donuts– Kids and adults alike enjoy watching these donuts being made to order. Customers have the option to choose any toppings for their freshly cooked donuts. Our  personal favorites are the plain cinnamon sugar donuts or the chocolate covered donut with bacon (delish!) !

You Drive Me Glazy 

You Drive Me Glazy  is located in Pickens, just a short drive from Greenville. Their made to order donuts come with tons of toppings to choose from. They will be opening 2nd location soon in Easley at the Silos, we can’t wait for this opening! 

The Donut Wagon 

This traveling donut shop has been a favorite for years. Be sure to check their Facebook page for their schedule, you can find them in various areas around the upstate and schedule varies by day. They have amazing flavor combinations and other menu goodies also!

QT

QT- When we began polling folks on their favorite donuts, we were surprised at how many people told us, QT! While we know their donuts are delicious, we were surprised that most recommended QT before mentioning any other shop. QT has tons of locations around the upstate to grab your favorite donuts! Stop by anytime for their donut holes, glazed donuts, cinnamon rolls, apple fritters (favorite!) and other pastry treats! 

Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme–  We can’t think of anything more to say than “hot & now” for these amazing donuts. Offering the original glazed donuts along with plenty of other flavors, who can pass by the Hot & Now sign without stopping for at least 1 or 1 dozen donuts?
